I saw this tag and I thought it’d be fun to do it, considering how I don’t consider myself a guilty reader. I read what I want, when I want, and try not to feel guilty about it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. But, I read the questions and it actually seems like a cool tag and I want to give it a shot! I’m not sure who the original creator is, but all props to them!
Have you ever claimed to have read a book when you haven’t?
This is one I don’t know the answer to, but this does sound like something younger me would do. I’m going to go with maybe since it’s really 50/50 what younger me’s decision process was like.
Have you ever borrowed a book and not returned it?
I want to say yes, but it beats me what book it was. I know I told a friend I would lend them Warcross and then… never did.
Have you ever read a series out of order?
Yes, but by accident. The book I read was supposed to be a companion novel, but it was really more like a sequel. It wasn’t hard to get caught up. but I was pretty upset when I put everything together. I’ve also started doing this with TV shows, the ones where each episode has a different plotline. I’ll pick the ones that sound the most interesting to me and jump between those.
Have I ever spoiled a book for someone?
Yes, but only with their permission. And I think I might have inadvertently spoiled someone before.
Have you ever skipped a chapter or a section of a book?
Heck yeah. Not so much in the past few years, but I used to just not be able to handle the suspense and skip around to see what happened.
Have you ever bad-mouthed a book you actually liked?
I feel like I would have had to. I used to just go along with what was popular. I think I did more hyping up books I didn’t like than bad-mouthing books I did like. I try really hard now to just like what I like and dislike what I dislike!
