While it’s summer now, it’s always fun to do a tag at the wrong time. Plus, I feel like doing a tag about cleaning, so I’m not sure what that says about me. I promise I’m not a dirty person and I’m definitely not writing this books laying on the floor that I haven’t put away yet. I don’t know what you’re talking about.
The struggle to get started: a book or series you struggle to begin because of its size
Oh, I struggle with this all the time. I know that it’s alright to take as long as I need to finish a book, but sometimes the length trips me up. Even though I haven’t even finished Lord Of Shadows, I’m going to say Queen Of Air And Darkness since it looks a bit daunting to start. I got this book for Christmas, and I didn’t even think it was a book when I chose to unwrap it!
Cleaning out the closet: a book or series you want to unhaul
I’m just going to go all in here and say Divergent. I keep it around because I really did enjoy it at the time, but I’ve realized that I fell into the hype with this book. It’s a cool story and I think it’s a decent book, but the writing style really isn’t for me.
Opening the window and letting fresh air in: a book that was refreshing
I think I read this after reading a lot of fantasies and it was really nice to read a contemporary. Plus, the writing style was amazing. The author is such a good writer. And I connected with the main character so much and I loved the emotional journey. It was just really, really good.
Washing out the sheets: a scene you wish you could rewrite
Um, I am so bad at remember specific scenes. So, I have no idea for this question haha.
Throwing out unnecessary knick-knacks: a book in a series you didn’t think was necessary
There’s a trend right now where older series are getting more books. I haven’t picked any of them up yet, so I can’t firmly judge right now. They could be great! But it feels like it’s becoming more popular and I feel like for some series it could produce unnecessary books.
Polishing doorknobs: a book that had a clean finish
Even though this is only the first book in a trilogy, the ending really did what it set out to do. The last scene before the epilogue and the epilogue itself. It felt really clean and neat.
Reaching to dust the fan: a book that tried too hard to relay a certain message
Ooooh, I’ve actually been thinking about this recently! I can’t think of a book that really sticks out to me, but I think the show Girl Meets World fits really well. It tried so hard to be deep, but I think its trying too hard was it’s downfall.
The tiring yet satisfying finish: a series that was tiring but satisfying to get through
I really liked these books. They are really good sci-fis and they tie together really well. But, as they go on, they get really heavy and I found it harder to get through them. Overall, I enjoyed them, but it was tiring to get through. It was satisfying too.
And that was the spring cleaning tag! I think I like writing about cleaning stuff than actually cleaning stuff. Nevertheless, this was a fun tag to do!
