I’m craving sweet stuff right now and don’t have a lot of sweet stuff to eat, so I thought it would be fun to make the craving worse by doing a tag about cake! Plus, I love cake, so I thought it would be a good idea haha. I’m not sure who the original creator of this tag is, but all credit to them! I think it started on Bookstagram awhile ago!
CHOCOLATE: A dark book that you absolutely loved
Hmmm, I really do love reading dark books, but I actually don’t read them all that often. I’m picking Nocturna, even though I found the dark parts of this book to be kind of so-so for me, they are definitely dark. Plus, this book is just really good all around.
VANILLA: A light read
I know this probably supposed to be a contemporary book, but I’m picking a quiet fantasy. I haven’t read a lot of light contemporaries in awhile, which I want to change haha. I found this book to be simple and light in the best way possible. It does have fantasy elements, like fighting and war, but it’s kind of off to the side. The main characters focus on their own problems, and let other people save the world.
RED VELVET: A book that gave you mixed emotions
I think pretty much every book gives me mixed emotions haha. Though, Finale is one of the more recent ones and where those mixed feelings are a little more mixed. I get frustrated with this book because I really loved the end and where everything picked up, but I found the first good bit boring and it felt like filler. I just don’t know how I feel about this book overall.
STRAWBERRY: A sweet book
This book is heavier and is sadder than the usual sweet book, but there are moments that are unbelievably sweet. I think the book overall is one of the sweetest things ever, so I’m using it haha.
CHEESECAKE: A book that you would recommend to anyone
Well, is Descendant Of The Crane really a surprise to anyone? This book is a Chinese-inspired Game Of Thrones, that’s better than Game Of Thrones. The twists have twists, the character motivation lines up so well with the plot, and it just really amazing.
COFFEE CAKE: A book that you started but never finished
Oh, so many. But, there are a lot that I do really want to go back to, I just got sidetracked while reading.Β Though, I’m not sure if I’ll finish Sadie. It’s a great book, but it’s so heavy and so full of pain. It’s hard for me to read it. I tried the physical book and the audiobook and I couldn’t get through either. I might come back and try later, but I’m not sure.
CARROT CAKE: A book with great writing
Ahh, I’m not sure I can pick just one!
This tag was great haha. I love tags where the main theme is food, especially sweet food.
Thank you for reading!
