I’m so thrilled to be apart of the blog tour for King Of Fools by Amanda Foody. It’s the second book in The Shadow Games trilogy, the first one being Ace Of Shades. I adored Ace and I adored the second book just as much! I get to tell you a little more about the cover and the story behind it! Thank you so much to FFBC for hosting this tour!

Synopsis:

When it came time to design the cover for KING OF FOOLS, my design team sent me a PDF with two columns. Both columns were potential covers of all three books in the trilogy: the finished versions of ACE OF SHADES at the top and mock-up covers for KING and Book 3 below. The one column had card images in all the covers, and the other used different game-related imagery in the three of them. I ended up choosing column #2, but I loved so many elements of the other KING OF FOOLS cover that I begged them to include them in the finalized one: particularly the royal blue color and the pinstripes. I just loved how they look like a Mafioso suit. All credit goes to cover designer (Mary Luna)!

Like the covers, I actually prewrote the taglines for the entire series, so that was also finalized quite early. Very pleased my team lets me write my own! That isn’t always typical.

Amanda Foody has always considered imagination to be our best attempt at magic. After spending her childhood longing to attend Hogwarts, she now loves to write about immersive settings and characters grappling with insurmountable destinies.
