Colsten Can’t Wait: Scavenge The Stars by Tara Sim

Welcome to Colsten Can’t Wait, which is my version of Waiting On Wednesday! Every week, my cat and I pick out an upcoming book we’re looking forward to and highlight it! This week, we picked out Scavenge The Stars.

Synopsis:

When Amaya rescues a mysterious stranger from drowning, she fears her rash actions have earned her a longer sentence on the debtor ship where she’s been held captive for years. Instead, the man she saved offers her unimaginable riches and a new identity, setting Amaya on a perilous course through the coastal city-state of Moray, where old-world opulence and desperate gamblers collide. Amaya wants one thing: revenge against the man who ruined her family and stole the life she once had. But the more entangled she becomes in this game of deception—and as her path intertwines with the son of the man she’s plotting to bring down—the more she uncovers about the truth of her past. And the more she realizes she must trust no one…

It’s weird, I’m not a huge fan the beach or sailing (the ocean is alright, it has a lot of cool creatures), but I jump on pretty much every single ocean/sailing book. And this one is no exception. It’s a gender-swapped Count Of Monte Cristo retelling, which is so awesome. (It’s my mom’s favorite book and she is clamoring for a copy of Scavenge haha.) This world sound so expansive and so brutal. I love stories that are twisty and full of deception and with characters who don’t know who to trust. Amaya sounds angry. She wants revenge and she will do anything to get it. She sounds awesome and I can’t wait to see what she does with what she is faced with. I cannot wait to read this book!

Scavenge The Stars comes out January 7, 2020. You can add it on Goodreads in the meantime! It’s not up for pre-order quite yet, but I’m sure it will go up soon!

Thank you for reading!
