Colsten Can’t Wait: Crier’s War by Nina Varela

Welcome to Colsten Can’t Wait, which is my verison of Waiting On Wednesday! Every week, my cat and I pick out an upcoming book we’re looking forward to and highlight it! This week, we picked out Crier’s War.

Synopsis:

After the War of Kinds ravaged the kingdom of Rabu, the Automae, designed to be the playthings of royals, usurped their owners’ estates and bent the human race to their will. Now Ayla, a human servant rising in the ranks at the House of the Sovereign, dreams of avenging her family’s death…by killing the sovereign’s daughter, Lady Crier. Crier was Made to be beautiful, flawless, and to carry on her father’s legacy. But that was before her betrothal to the enigmatic Scyre Kinok, before she discovered her father isn’t the benevolent king she once admired, and most importantly, before she met Ayla. Now, with growing human unrest across the land, pressures from a foreign queen, and an evil new leader on the rise, Crier and Ayla find there may be only one path to love: war. 

I thought the title was really cool. It sounded like something I would like to read. And the cover is super, super awesome. Then, I found out it was a f/f fantasy novel! I cannot wait to read it. If a book is queer, I pretty much want to give it a shot haha. This world sounds like it has such interesting dynamics, with humans being overthrown and then wanting to rise up again. The world sounds different than what I normally read and I can’t wait to find out what it’s all about. Plus, the plot sounds super awesome too. I love stories where two characters who think they are on opposing sides, but they come together to fight a common evil. This one sounds like it’s going to do that within a really facsninating plot and world. I can’t wait to learn more and read this book!
