Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018!
It’s another Top Ten Tuesday post! Even though these tend to be a lot longer than what I normally write, I still really enjoy writing them! I guess I enjoy following a prompt haha. Though, for this one, I’m not sure how books I’ll be able to get. I love standalones and so many are good just as they are, as a single book. I’m going to try and come up with some though!
Descendant Of The Crane by Joan He
HEY ALBERT WHITMAN YOU HEAR THIS! GIVE DESCENDANT THE SEQUELS IT DESERVES! Seriously, think book is amazing and deserves every ounce of praise it gets and more. I definitely recommend pre-ordering so maybe the sequel could get written on day!
Warrior Of The Wild by Tricia Levenseller
I’m not so sure I want a sequel to this one as a companionish novel. I really, really love the Wild and would love for it to be explored more. I want to see more of the monsters that live there and it’d be awesome to see the other villages!
Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand
This is another one where I think I would want a companion novel more than a sequel. I’d love for the monsters and their world to be explored more. Though, I don’t think I’d mind another story with Marion, Zoe, and Val.
Uprooted by Noami Novik
This is more of a plea for more Noami Novik books.
The Gentleman’s Guide To Vice And Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
Lady’s Guide was kind of a sequel but I’d love another book from Monty’s POV! I think there are lot of stories that could be told with him and Percy!
The Disasters by M.K. England
This book wasn’t my all time favorite, but I did still enjoy it and I think a sequel would be awesome! It has such amazing characters and I’d love to see more of them.
Woo, I’m going to stop there. I actually got more than I thought I was going to! A lot of standalones are contemporaries and their stories always seem to wrap up so nicely. Fantasy standalones are becoming more popular, which I think is awesome, but I just haven’t read many yet, so I don’t know which ones I would want a sequel from! Plus, I’m all for just leaving a story at one book or having a companion novel instead!
Thank you for reading!
Ahh these are such great picks! I totally agree, I would LOVE to hear more of Monty and Percy’s story 🙂

I never thought of a Sawkill Girls sequel but I am here for it. I think a prequel would be very interesting!

Oh, a prequel is such a good idea! It’d be really interesting to see how things came about.

Technically, The Lady’s Guide is the sequel of The Gentleman’s Guide but I would love to see more of Monty and Percy now that they are living alone in London.

I think it’d be awesome even if it was just them living in London and it was more of a contemporary book!
