Backlist Books I Hope To Read In The New Year

So, I wanted to more holiday posts and I think this sort of counts? New Years is a holiday right? I’m counting it! I due tend to get distracted by good books that come my way and lot of times, I’ll push back reading something for… a long time. Though, recently I’ve been wanting to read some more backlist books and they have been catching my attention! I say I want to read this in the new year, mostly because I don’t think I’ll be getting to them before then, with the exception of one or two. Who knows though, haha.

Truthwitch by Susan Denard

I see a lot of love for this one of Twitter, though there’s a lot of mixed opinions everywhere else. Nevertheless, I’ve been feeling like reading it recently and this is one of the ones I might get to before the new year! I’ve actually had this one of my shelf for a good long while and since I’ve heard it can get pretty heavy, I’ve put it off for awhile. I guess that’s changing!

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

This is another one that gets a lot of love. I have heard that there could be some not so great things about it, but I’m going to give it a shot and see what I think! I know its supposed to be very bloody and very fierce, which I’m looking forward too! And I’m pretty sure there’s a queer romance? Which is super awesome too!

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon

I’ve read Priory and I really enjoyed it, so I’m curious what I’ll think about her ongoing series! It sounds really interesting. Clairvoyants, maybe enemies to lovers, and secret societys? That sounds super awesome!

A Darker Shade Of Magic by V.E. Schwab

I know, I know! I haven’t read these yet. I actually have read the first one, but that was so long ago, I remember next to nothing. And now that I’m older, I think I will enjoy and appreciate it a lot more. Just even thinking about it, I’m more intrigued by the premise than when I first read it!

Skylark by Megan Spooner

I know this trilogy came out a good long while ago, but I didn’t know they existed till about a year ago. So they’re not backlist backlist for me, just backlist haha. Anyway, I’ve heard these are pretty good and dark. I haven’t read a sci-fi book in awhile and a dark one sounds like a great way to get back into the genre!

I have so many books on my shelves that I want to get to, but here are a few! And if there are any already released books you think are amazing, FEEL FREE TO TELL ME! I’m always looking for recommendations and for my tbr to get longer and longer and longer!
