Birthday Recommendations!

Ahhh, so I turned 18 the other day. Yeah, that’s something that happened. It’s so so weird. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to do a birthday post, but instead of focusing on me, I would show of some books I recommend pre-ordering! They are all super awesome!

You Asked For Perfect by Laura Silverman

This on focuses on the struggles and pressures placed on teens in highschool. While I don’t have the same struggles as the main character, I really loved seeing school represented in a realistic way and how it showed how challenging it could be. Plus, its super queer and super cute!

Descendant of the Crane by Joan He

Haha, this list wouldn’t be complete without this book. It’s one of my favorites of all time and I will probably scream about it until the end of time. It’s a Chinese-inspired Game of Thrones, but it’s better. Way, way better. The plot twists and character motivation line up so well and the twists even have twists to them. COMPLETELY RECOMMEND!!!

The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman

Here’s another one of my all time favorites. This one nails the creepy woods story, while adding complex disaster characters, complicated family relationships, and cats! I definitely got the Stranger Things vibe from this one and I cannot wait for the sequel!

To Best The Boys by Mary Weber

This one lives up to it’s title. While it wasn’t as much as a maze story as I thought, it was jammed packed with other amazing things. It’s all about accepting female strength, in all its forms. I feel like you don’t get that in a lot of books and it made me all warm and fuzzy to see it here.

Our Year Of Maybe by Rachel Lynn Solomon

Oh, the writing in this one. I honestly can’t stop gushing about it. Somehow, Rachel took a subject I would usually not love to read about and made me love it. It was honestly so good, that I’m trying her other book and I’m planning on reading anything she writes. And her other books sounds like something that I would usually shy away from, but she’s just that good!!!

Wooo, I hope one of those books caught your interest cause they are all really incredible. It was actually really hard to narrow down this list to something manageable. I wanted to add ALL THE BOOKS. So, there might be another part to this sometime in the future, it just won’t be birthday related haha.
