What I Want To Read In December

WHAT. It’s December (and I’m getting this post out on the first day haha) and it’s blowing my mind just a little bit. I turn 18 this month which is adding to the fact that I can’t quite wrap my head around  the knowledge that’s it actually December. Anyway, there are books I’d like to plan to read this month, so let’s talk about that and not the fact that 2019 is going to be next month.

This Time Will Be Different by Misa Sugiura

I actually don’t know too much about this one other than it sounds cute and good. I know when I read the synopsis that I connected with it, so it should be interesting to know my feelings on the full book! I know that flowers play a role here and I think that’s super cool! I’ve never really seen that in a book before and I think it could be really awesome. This one doesn’t have a cover yet, but I know it has the potential be one of the cutest things ever.

The Beholder by Anna Bright

A pirate book! I’m actually a little ways into this one, but I keep getting intrupted by other books haha, and it’s nothing like I expected. I was expecting more adventure and a *waves hand* pazzaz? This book is of the softer variety and that’s not a bad thing! There are a few elements I’m wary about, but I think I could end up really, really enjoying this one. There are nuggets of plot that I’m eyeing that I think could lead somewhere really cool.

Our Year of Maybe by Rachel Lynn Solomon

Oh look at me, planning to read a heavy contemporary. I’m not a huge fan of these types of book since I latch on character’s emotions so strongly and I usually end up feeling weird and just not being able enjoy them. But this one caught my attention. While I know it’s most likely going to be heartbreaking, I think its going to examine a lot about human nature. I think character dynamics are going to be explored in such a unique way and I’m really, really interested to watch it play out.

Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan

I got an email from the publisher with an e-ARC and I pretty much exploded. This book has so much hype and sounds so dark and gritty and like something YA doesn’t see a lot of. I’ve noitced a lot of love for this book, but I have seen it miss the mark for some people. The story sounds really, really awesome and I’m interested to see what I’ll think.

It’s a short list this time! I really want to read and review the current ARCs I have since that’s just what I’m in the mood for! But that could definitely change haha. And December is usually a quiet month for new releases and the ones that are coming out I’ve either read them already or I don’t plan to read in the near future!

Thank you for reading!
