Books I’d Love To See Adapted If They Were Done Right

I always fantasize what it would be like to see my favorite books on the screen. But, it’s so, so easy to get them wrong. I’ve decided to pick out some books I’d love to see adapted if they I knew they were going to be amazing!

There’s Something About Sweetie by Sandhya Menon

Yes, this one please. This movie would be so special for so many people. I know I would love to see Sweetie’s story played out on any screen. But, I don’t want them to whitewash it. I want an actual plus sized person to play Sweetie. And I just don’t trust Hollywood to deliver.

Ahhh, can you imagine seeing this book on screen? It’d be freaking amazing and I would love to see so many scenes. Though, I think it would be very easy for a studio to make this as a money grab, for it be cheap looking and for the magic to be lost in a second. If it was done right, this movie could be simply spectacular.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

Oh, this book needs to be a movie. Honestly, I think it would be hard to make this one poorly. The story is so rich and full and there’s so much to work with. The story doesn’t really leave room for anything other than 100%. I honestly want to squeal thinking about seeing some scenes playing out.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

I feel like this one could work even if it was a money grab? The magic behind Caraval is so flashy and I feel like it would be easy to recreate? I dunno, I just think it would be amazing to see Caraval in all it’s glory.

Ooooohhhhh, I get chills just thinking about how awesome a trailer would be. This movie would be SO GOOD, if the people working on it were actually serious about making it good! I would so love to see this book on the screen.

There are so many good books that would make such great movies and it’s so surprising that more people aren’t jumping on them. YA books have such great stories and I wish people didn’t have such harsh opinions about ‘teenage’ movies, cause they are seriously missing out.

Thank you for reading!

  2. I think Caraval is going to be a movie? So hopefully they’re going to do it right. Strange and Uprooted would indeed be phenomenal if done right full agree
