Welcome to Colsten Can’t Wait, which is my verison of Waiting on Wednesday! Every week, my cat and I pick an upcoming book to highlight it and share why we’re excited for it! This week we picked Meet Me In Outer Space!

Synopsis:

Edie Kits has a learning disability. Well, not a learning disability exactly, but a disability that impacts her learning. It isn’t visible, it isn’t obvious, and it isn’t something she likes to advertise. In fact, she’s successfully hidden it from nearly everyone in her life, including her college roommate and best friend, Serena. And for the first half of her freshman year, she has managed without assistance. Edie thought she was in control of her disability, until she meets her match with French 101 and a professor unwilling to hear her out. Edie finds herself caught between getting the help she needs and convincing her professor that she isn’t looking for an easy out. Luckily for her, Hudson, the badly dressed but undoubtedly adorable TA in her French class, ambles in to help her out

This one sounds really interesting, I haven’t been on the best roll with SwoonReads books but I’m hoping this one could turn it around! I really like contemporary books that use sci-fiish titles! It think it gives it a cool flare. Anyway, this book is about a girl named Edie who has a auditory processing disorder. And it’s #OwnVoices! I’ve never read a book with a character who has that and I’m really interested to learn more and see how a character handles it. This is also a YA book that takes place in college which is AWESOME. I love that there starting to be more YA books with college age MCs. This sounds like its going to have all the cute and fluff that I crave, while bringing up really important issues and good disability rep. I haven’t read many books that can do both and I’m excited to see this book give it a shot!

Meet Me In Outer Space comes out March 12th, 2019. You can add it on Goodreads and pre-order a copy in the meantime!

Thank you for reading!
