Welcome to Colsten Can’t Wait, which my version of Waiting on Wednesday! Every week me and my cat pick an upcoming release we’re excited about and highlight it. Today we decided on I Love You So Mochi!

Synopsis: Kimi Nakamura loves a good fashion statement. She’s obsessed with transforming everyday ephemera into Kimi Originals: bold outfits that make her and her friends feel brave, fabulous, and like the Ultimate versions of themselves. But her mother sees this as a distraction from working on her portfolio paintings for the prestigious fine art academy where she’s been accepted for college. So when a surprise letter comes in the mail from Kimi’s estranged grandparents, inviting her to Kyoto for spring break, she seizes the opportunity to get away from the disaster of her life. When she arrives in Japan, she loses herself in Kyoto’s outdoor markets, art installations, and cherry blossom festival–and meets Akira, a cute med student who moonlights as a costumed mochi mascot. What begins as a trip to escape her problems quickly becomes a way for Kimi to learn more about the mother she left behind, and to figure out where her own heart lies.

This cover is one of the cutest freaking things I’ve ever seen. It’s beautiful. I also love mochi! I’ve only ever had the kind from Whole Foods, which probably doesn’t hold a candle to the authentic ones. And they title is a play on words! Honestly, I haven’t even read this yet and it is so mushy gushy cute that I just want to melt right into the floor! The story also sounds like it’s going to be super cute and fluffy, but also have some real substance that is going to be important to a lot of people. I can’t wait to meet Kimi and see her journey in Japan and see everything that her journey holds for her! If the story is anything like the cover, it is going to be one heck of a gorgeous book!

I Love You So Mochi comes out May 28th, 2019! You can add it on Goodreads and pre-order a copy in the meantime!

Thank you for reading!
