The Nope Book Tag

I love nopeing with a passion. And I love talking and reading about books me or someone else didn’t like. I find it funny and I love seeing everybody’s opinions about all the books. So, here I am with the best tag for all of this!

NOPE. Ending: A book ending that made you go NOPE either in denial, rage, or simply because the ending was crappy

18053047

Oh, oh. I read this one years ago and I am still bitter about the ending. There was a point, where the ending was perfect, it completely reflected the story and everything that went into it. And then there was a paragraph after that about the weird romance subplot of the book and it completely ruined it.

NOPE. Protagonist: A main character you dislike and drives you crazy

6068551

Hahaha, no thanks.

NOPE. Series: A series that turned out to be one huge pile of NOPE after you’ve invested all of that time and energy on it, or a series you gave up on because it wasn’t worth it anymore

256683

I loved The Mortal Instruments in it’s prime years and I love that I got to be apart of that. I read The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices. But now, I just can’t keep up with the world and the characters. I think I’ll also love the world, I’m just loving the rest of the books from afar now. Maybe one day I’ll take the plunge and try to go into them again!

NOPE. Popular pairing: A “ship” you don’t support

10194157

Alina/Darkling never came to fruition, but I know a ton of people ship them together and I just simply cannot.

NOPE. Plot twist: A plot twist you didn’t see coming or didn’t like

29523636

I guess I saw this one coming? But I definitely didn’t like it. I think I was just expecting more from the whole book and everything was so straightforward.

NOPE. Protagonist action/decision: A character decision that made you shake your head NOPE

34697399

You’re in a world of zombies. PLEASE DON’T DRINK THE ODDLY COLORED WATER.

NOPE. Genre: A genre you will never read

Non-fiction. I think I could read the right non-fiction book, but I don’t actively seek it out. I just find most of them boring.

NOPE. Book format: Book formatting you hate and avoid buying until it comes out in a different edition

I’m pretty sure it’s called a mass market paperback. The ones that are super small and flimsy? Yeah, I am so not a fan of those and I avoid them at all costs. Though, there are some books that I think this is the only edition the book is available in, so I might just have to suck it up for a few books.

NOPE. Trope: A trope that makes you go NOPE

Love triangle. NOPE. NO THANK YOU. I just can’t with it.

NOPE. Recommendation: A book recommendation that is constantly hyped and pushed at you that you simply refuse to read

The-Raven-Cycle-Series

So many people love The Raven Cycle and I couldn’t even get into the first book. I don’t think I will be continuing with the series.

NOPE. Cliche/pet peeve: A cliche or writing pet peeve that always makes you roll your eyes

I always cringe at love at first sight. I have also recently been annoyed at lack of communication. So many problems would be solved if characters talked to each other!

NOPE. Love interest: The love interest that’s not worthy of being one. A character you don’t think should have been a viable love interest

26032825

Hello, Carden. Please shape up or go away. This series still has two more books and there are still so many unanswered questions, so this answer will probably change as more books come out, haha.

NOPE. Book: A book that shouldn’t have existed that made you say NOPE

*Good Luck With That by Kristin Higgins*

The subject of this book and how it is handled is horrible. Please stay far away from it.

NOPE. Villain: A scary villain/antagonist you would hate to cross and would make you run in the opposite direction

12127750

That spider Annabeth fights that I pronounced ‘arcade’ for the longest time, because nope.

NOPE. Death: A character death that still haunts you

Please don’t kill the animals.

NOPE. Author: An author you had a bad experience reading for and have decided to quit

I never loved The Maze Runner to begin with and wasn’t planning on reading any other of Jame’s Dashner’s books, but then the accusations came to light and he is permanently banned from my shelf.

That was The Nope Book Tag! I liked delving into my nopeist books and book things. I tag anybody who wants to nope right along with me!

Thank you for reading!

  1. WOW WE SEEM TO BE SOO SIMILIAR (for most parts) – like the shiver series = Zzzz (from memory as we read it ageeess agoo) and The ever popular Raven Cycle = the 1st book was just too hard to get into (maybe one day..) and the Maze Runner was good…but wayyy too overhyped!! And spiders = DIE DIE DIE!! And TMI and TID – a series we’ve read and slowly catching up with TDA…TLH seems more enticing though now….FAB POST!! 😉 😉

    1. It really is! And I’ve seen Gone Girl around in the last couple years, probably because of the movie haha… but it just seemed too confusing for me to get into. Maybe I’ll have to give it a try sometime!
