2019 Books I’m Ridiculously Excited For

While I still find it insane that we are already half way done with 2018, there are gobs of books that I am looking forward to in the crazy, what the heck it can’t be year of 2019. So I’ve decided to compile a list of some 2019 books that I am really looking forward too!

1. The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman

I’ve been looking forward to this one since the publication announcement. It’s going to have creepy woods, queer characters, and monsters, so I am so completely ready to get my hands on this one. You can add it on Goodreads here.

2. Descendant of the Crane by Joan He

Another one I’ve been dying to read since the publication announcement! It’s a Chinese inspired Game Of Thrones about a girl searching for her father’s killer while navigating the complications of court. It sounds amazing and it can’t come out soon enough! You can add it on Goodreads here.

3. The Wicked King by Holly Black

Ah, the sequel to The Cruel Prince. Everybody under the sun is dying to read this one, myself included. I can’t wait to see Jude navigate Faerie after the events of the first book. You can add it on Goodreads here.

4. The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon

Alright, first, DO YOU SEE THAT COVER???? It is so incredibly gorgeous I almost don’t know what to do with myself. And the story inside sounds just as amazing. An epic fantasy about dragons. You can add it on Goodreads here.

5.Undying by Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner

I adored the first book, Unearthed, of this duology and I cannot wait to see how it ends! I like to describe it as an underground horror movie with good characters and a sci-fi twist. You can add it on Goodreads here.

6. Sherwood by Megan Spooner

Another retelling from Megan Spooner! I thought hunted was amazing, so I can’t wait to see what this female Robin Hood book has in store. You can add it on Goodreads here.

7. Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller

Yesssss, more books by Tricia Levenseller. Her pirate books were so good and so much fun, I can’t wait to see what this one is all about! And it’s about vikings and a failed coming-of-age trail and look at that cover! I cannot wait to read it! You can add it on Goodreads here.

Well, seven is an awkward number, so I’m going to stop there! This list doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of all the amazing books coming out in 2019. Here is a masterlist of a ton of YA books coming out next year! I’m not sure if it has every single book or how often it gets updated, but just looking at it makes me smile due to all the awesomeness it contains! What 2019 books are you looking forward to?

  1. These books sound amazing! I hadn’t heard about Sherwood, but I am definitely adding it to my TBR. It sounds like it has so much potential. I cannot wait until The Wicked King comes out! It seems so far from now 😭

    1. I’m sure Sherwood is going to be amazing since Megan Spooner is an amazing author! And yes, The Wicked King is so far away, but also so soon? Like, it’s the middleish of June and I don’t know how that happened!
